the processing of payroll for the Bargaining Unit employees.
He/She is involved in the recruitment process with placing position openings, working closely with the VP of Operations and the General Manager.
The HR Coordinator conducts the onboarding orientation along with the Director of Fleet Maintenance & Safety.
This position helps with gathering information for Executives regarding union matters.
The Coordinator plans benefit open enrollment for Management and Administrative Staff; he/she researches and provides data to 401K Plan advisors and other supplemental plan providers.
The HR Coordinator confers with the Hawaii Employers Council on all Human Resources issues.
Essential Functions Process bi-weekly bargaining unit employee payroll using ADP and uAttend programs.
Review payroll reports to reconcile Vacation/Sick/PTO balances.
On a monthly basis, generate reports for the Health & Welfare and Pension Fund contributions.
Assist with the recruitment process by placing position openings in all avenues.
Process New Hires and prepare for the onboarding orientation which includes but not limited to background checks, setting up appointment for physicals, and scheduling road evaluations.
Conduct out-processing of employees who have resigned, retired, or terminated.
Plan and coordinate annual benefit open enrollment for Management and Administrative staff.
Attend monthly meetings - Insurance Review, Safety Committee, and Staff Meeting.
Conduct random drug and alcohol testing.
As needed, process documents for Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Workmans Compensation (WC), and Temporary Disability Insurance (TDI).
Schedule annual road evaluations as required for the Driver Qualification File (DQF).
Conduct annual review of Driver History Record.
Develop and maintain Human Resources and Safety & Health policies, programs, and practices.
As needed, generate reports requested by Operations and Management.
Coordinate Pre-employment full query and annual limited query per National Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse with Third-Party Administrator (TPA).
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Basic knowledge of Federal Employment Laws and Regulations - Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR).
Basic knowledge of State Laws and Regulations - Wage & Hour Laws, Prepaid Health Care Act, Disability Compensation Laws - Temporary Disability Insurance and Workman&s Compensation.
Knowledge of Discrimination, Disability, and Privacy Laws.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Detail-oriented, results-oriented, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in business administration/human resources or related field highly desired.
At least two to three years related experience a plus.
HR Certification a plus SHRM Membership a plus.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
