This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small, privately-owned, brand-new specialty hospital that will provide numerous opportunities for growth and advancement.
Our current services include dentistry and surgery, with additional specialties being added as we grow.
What you'll do:
Utilize your excellent technical skills (physical examination including heart and lung auscultation, phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, drug calculation and administration, anesthetic induction and intubation, anesthetic monitoring, anesthetic recovery and postoperative monitoring, ultrasound-guided cystocentesis, laboratory diagnostic evaluations, CT positioning and scanning).
You will continue to develop your knowledge and skills, knowing you have a whole team to support you.
Provide compassionate and focused patient care.
You are the patient's advocate and your intuition in recognizing when intervention is necessary is invaluable.
Support the veterinarian during surgical or dental procedures.
You are relied upon to prepare the patient for surgery, position the patient and assist during the procedure by passing instruments and other supplies while maintaining sterile technique.
You pride yourself on predicting the needs of the surgeon or dentist.
Communicate with our clients in a confident, helpful and honest manner.
You genuinely want their interactions with us to be positive.
You are proactive in making any follow-up phone calls or emails.
Communicate with our referring veterinary colleagues in a clear, timely, and knowledgeable manner.
Create and maintain the patient's medical records in a clear, accurate and consistent manner.
You review previous medical records from referring hospitals and summarize and document pertinent historical information.
You verbalize a patient's symptoms and medical history to the veterinarian in a concise manner and highlight any details regarding the patient or client that you feel are important.
Keep the hospital equipment and instruments clean and in good working order.
You are vigilant in making sure the necessary tools are sterilized and ready for the upcoming procedures to make the day run smoothly and efficiently.
